Lion In The Tall GrassMay 4, 2021 By Mark MarinoThis is a recent pastel done in one afternoon. How? I started with black velour paper and did the lay-in with the darkest colors. Then I layered successively lighter colors on top of darker ones. I finished with the long grass strokes. Notice that that there was no white used; the lightest value is actually a cool light green. (Tip: try to limit your palette to the fewest colors possible) This piece measures 20×26, it is finished with a narrow gold frame and protected with TruView museum glass. Available for a short time online. Inquire on Contact page email link.
